Tiger Takes Zoo Keepers life

A woman has died after a tiger attack at Hamilton zoo Sunday morning. It has been confirmed that the woman was a Hamilton zoo keeper and the fatal attack involved one of the male tigers Oz.
No statements have been released commenting on how the incident happened, or if the staff member was authorised to be in the enclosure. It is the first fatal attack of a staff member at Hamilton zoo by one of its own animals. The Zoo will remain closed until Thursday for investigations to be carried out and a blessing of the site to be undertaken. Quite obviously the staff members of the zoo and the whole of the extended Hamilton community are devastated by the incident.
As for the state of OZ, no comments have been made as to whether he would be put down or allowed to remain at the zoo. However he is safely contained in his enclosure with one of the older female tigers.

Cindy In The House

Emilio 20 RegularToday we walked to Pt England School to watch a play called "Cindy In The House" a story based on Cinderella. There were also four including us Ruapotaka, Te Kura Paupapa, Glenbrae, and Pt England Preschool. The story was about a girl called Cindy and a boy called Josh who find BESTIES. They took this fascinating story to an amazing adventure with some rapping and dancing.

The Amazing Myron Simpson

           Sketch Gothic School Regular
On July the 30th, 1990 a New Zealand cyclist was born his name was Myron Simpson.

Yesterday Myron came to our Duffy Assembly to talk to us about Reading is Achieving and his cycling career. He also bought his cycling equipment as well. He was inspired by his brothers to cycle. At the age of 3 he started riding ,then when he was 3 and a half he took off his training wheels. Many years later, at the age of 8 he started competing in cycling competitions and now he’s a professional cycler who represented our country in the Commonwealth Games. In 2007 he received a silver medal in Mexico.
